Why Risk Management Matters More Than Strategy
You can have the best strategy in the world, but without proper risk management you will still lose money. This is mathematics, not opinion.
Mathematical Fact
A trader with 40% win rate and 1:3 R:R will be profitable. A trader with 70% win rate and 1:0.5 R:R will be unprofitable.
Simple Calculation:
Trader A (40% win rate, 1:3 R:R)
10 trades: 4 wins × $300 = $1200
6 losses × $100 = -$600
Total: +$600
Trader B (70% win rate, 1:0.5 R:R)
10 trades: 7 wins × $50 = $350
3 losses × $100 = -$300
Total: +$50
As you can see, a high win rate doesn't guarantee profit. Risk management determines how much you earn (or lose).
